The S017 Helitak Rappelling Harness was originally developed for Smoke Jumpers rapelling into forest fires in Canada. It is now used by some Emergency Services in Australia.

It is a robust parachute-style harness that incorporates a "Capewell Lanyard Release" for quickly "getting off" the rappelling rope. The Release (S017-1) can be purchased together with or separately from the harness.
